Children at the Seaward All Age School in the inner city area of Waterhouse. About twelve students at this school are provided with lunches, back to school supplies, optical care and other medical care. Some of these children have lost either one or both parents to gun violence and illness. In addition lunch subsidies are provided for other children who are in need at the school.
Our monthly visits to the Homestead Primary School in Spanish Town, St. Catherine, began in June 2017. This Project provides support for approximately 20 children.
Each month, our Support Team monitor the academic progress of these children “at risk” and offer each child encouragement and motivation. We also distribute back-to-school supplies, and food packages for them to take home. The children are very happy for our support and they are showing positive changes as they work towards a bright and blessed future.
Our monthly visits, since 2003, to the Mountain View Primary School in Kingston have been positive and rewarding. This Project provides support for approximately 25 children.
Our LAHM team provides these students with snacks, writing books, pencils, food packages, clothing items, and school bags. We also give motivational talks and encouragement, as well as fund a School-feeding Programme providing lunch for each child. Our aim is to give these children a viable opportunity to excel and to become positive contributors to society.
Our monthly visits to the New Day Primary and Junior High School – located near Barbican in the parish of St. Andrew, began in 2011. This Project provides support for approximately 20 children.
Each month, the academic progress of these children is reviewed by our LAHM team members who provide mentoring activities. We also distribute back-to-school supplies and provide each child with a warm lunch. It is our hope that these students be encouraged and motivated for a bright future.
Each month, since 2011, our LAHM team visits the Shortwood Practising Infant, Primary and Junior High School which is located near Norbrook, in the parish of St. Andrew. This Project provides support for approximately 15 children.
We give these children encouragement as well as provide them with writing books, back-to-school supplies, and lunch. Our team also pray for the students and share with them the tenets of God’s word. The children are always very delighted and appreciative of our visits and respond to us with hugs.
Quarterly visits are made to the Golden Age Home in Vineyard Town, where quality time is spent with the residents. We also make periodic contributions of toiletries, food and clothing.
In 2006 LAHM established a nurturing club in Spanish Town specifically for the children of the inner city community of St Johns Lane training them to become productive citizens. We meet with these children once per month at the St Johns Primary School with gifts of school supplies, food and clothing.
Free Counseling services are provided to assist persons with various social problems.
Love and Hope Ministries hosts an annual fund raising banquet during December in Jamaica. The banquet not only aims at raising financial support and public awareness of the group’s mission, but also provides an opportunity for members, friends and well wishers to enjoy an evening of elegance and fun.
Funds are also raised by support groups in Florida and New York by way of garden parties, selling raffle tickets participating in festivals.
